A WHOLE Year!

It has been a whole year since the last post to this blog.  Life has been insanely busy but that has not stopped Abby’s efforts!  The check is being sent today to God’s Littlest Angels, the ministry Abby has been fundraising for this past year.  Abby had set a goal of $200 and was able to double that and is sending $400!  Praise God!

"Annual" Lemonade Stand

On July 18th {Friday} and 19th {Saturday},  I'll be holding my "Annual" Lemonade Stand. I will have lemonade, baked goodies, popcorn, and freezy-pops. I will be selling this during my parents garage sale. All the money from the lemonade stand will go towards God's Littlest Angels.

Giving Hearts

At a time of year when we are all rushing about buying presents for those we love, 2 family friends donated to Families Fighting Famine.  Thank You for your gift!

Bracelet Party

The latest idea to raise money was to have a group of girls over to make bracelets.  The girls came and for $4 I provided supplies & lunch.  I am not sure how much bracelet making went on.  When I checked on the girls they were playing a game & now I hear "dodge ball" taking place.  Either way, the girls sounded like they had fun and they get to take all the supplies home.

God's Littlest Angels

From their Website:  God's Littlest Angels is a Haitian orphanage located in the mountains above Petion-Ville, close to the village of Fermathe. The majority of the children brought to the orphanage are between the ages of newborn and 7 years old. We also have older children, sibling groups, and children with special needs waiting for adoptive parents.

God's Littlest Angels has ministered to the children of Haiti since 1994 and has been involved in international adoptions since 1997. GLA is involved in several children's ministries in the local community. In the year 2000, GLA implemented a school sponsorship program for children unable to attend school due to the lack of funds. Today, more than 200 children attend school sponsored by people in North America and Europe.

Our family was drawn to this beautiful orphanage when friends of ours brought their two beautiful children home from here.  This is the latest location we feel called to raise funding for.

Drum Roll...

The girls have finished their fundraising for Africa.  They reached their goal and passed it just a little.  The total raised was $1,014.  They had received a matching gift for the $1,000 goal.  We pledge to match after the $1,000 (we got the easier end).  So, the grand total being sent into World Vision to fight famine in the horn of Africa is......

$2,028

Victory!

Well, the August 1st deadline is tomorrow and a donation from friends came in that put the girls past their goal!  The girls have received their match.  We are matching anything after the $1,000 mark so in the next day or two their final total will be up...stay tuned & thanks for all your support!
